Today

National Stress Awareness Day

Held the first Wednesday each November, this holiday was founded by Carole Spiers to help people better understand the role stress plays in their lives and to focus on ways to reduce stress.

Bring Your Child to Work Day

This holiday was started as a way for children to understand more about the working world, build their confidence, and spark curiosity that can lead them to their ideal career. While many workplaces just let the kids tag along, we think it’s best to really involve them with activities just for them.

World Kindness Day

Started in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement, this day focuses on empathy and just being good to each other. It’s a great time to focus on the little and big ways we could be a little kinder to each other – and to ourselves.

Holiday Party Kickoff

At this point, your company holiday party is just about a month away. Now is the time to start planning your event. If you are feeling a bit stumped on this one, not to worry. We’ve outlined the process step by step.

International Day for Tolerance

Another observance launched by the United Nations, this day is meant to bring awareness to how we react to people from other cultures, with differing religions, languages and abilities and more.

Dutch-American Heritage Day

This day celebrates both Dutch-American culture and its peoples, but also the relationship between the United States and the Netherlands.

International Stand up to Bullying Day

Here is the second International Stand up to Bullying Day of 2022. Use this day to focus on how we can cut back on bullying and bullying-like behaviors in the workplace.

International Men’s Day

It’s fitting to celebrate International Men’s Day the same month as Movember. This date is used to recognize the achievements of men and hold high the men in our lives.

Transgender Day of Remembrance

This is an incredibly somber day commemorating the victims of trans-targeted hate crimes and the ways in which transphobia kills.

Thanksgiving (USA)

While they might be in different months, Thanksgiving in the U.S. and Canada is pretty similar. Mainly, it’s all about the food. Instead of getting everyone to pitch in this year, let them take it easy with catered meals, such as Festive Turkey Feast.

Small Business Saturday

We all know about Black Friday. What is less often observed is Small Business Saturday. We love this shopping “holiday” and really want to see it get off the ground since it champions the little guy rather than the massive corporation. And the good news is that it is easy to celebrate at your workplace. Just order lunch from a small business or set up a team-building activity from a company local to you.

Universal Human Rights Month

While many awareness months focus on a specific group of people, this one focuses on our rights as a whole. It is a good time to think about where we are falling short and to stand up for the rights of all people.
